Happy Birthday messages are the most common, but it also has been used for announcing anniversaries, supporting local sports teams and even making marriage proposals. March is “Reading Month” for the Oakland University Athletic Department. Student-athletes go to elementary schools in Oakland County and read to children in kindergarten to fifth grade. Members of OU’s volleyball, softball, men’s track and field, and men’s swimming and diving teams visited Rogers Elementary School in Auburn Hills on March 8 and read to small groups of students in the library. Urban garden teaches wellness, nutrition
