Buon Appetito: Try the chicken cremosi

Looking for a place to have great food and a good time? OU News Bureau reporters have visited some distinctive eateries in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties to learn more about what these places have to offer. Reporter Michaela Scarsella visited Buon Appetito Italian Cuisine in Romeo and spoke with owner Jeannette Cangemi.

Tell me the history of this place.
The history of this place is we’ve been doing this for two years. Vito, our chef, has been a chef for 20 years. He has taken some of his recipes that he has learned through the years — some from his mom, some from his grandma — and blended this and that to make his own.

Describe what it offers patrons.
It offers them a relaxing atmosphere, enjoyable music and amazing food.


Why would someone want to come here?
We make them feel like they’re at home. We make each customer feel like they’re very special to us. We give them personal service. We make sure everyone is enjoying what they’re eating. It’s an all-around experience that you get here.

What do you do that’s different from other Italian restaurants?
We give each table its own personal service. We strike up conversation with each and every table to make sure they enjoy their time here.

What’s the one thing everyone should order here?
It is definitely our No. 1 selling dish — our chicken cremosi.

How many people work here? 
There’s probably 20-25 employees that we have here.

What does the future hold for this place?
If everything works as planned, eventually expanding, adding a private banquet room and just giving customers the overall experience from the moment they walk in the door to the moment they leave.
